Analysis of global air pollution data

I'm looking to reproduce an analysis done in this Nature Geoscience paper: [login to view URL] This would involve downloading the daily satellite measurements of SO2 and NO2: [login to view URL] [login to view URL] And wind vectors: [login to view URL] and then processing these by interpolating the SO2/NO2 data into a 0.05x0.05 degree grid, subsetting one country from that grid, and for each point of that grid -checking for anomalous SO2 readings within 300km (99th percentile exceeds 5) and discarding those days -calculating the average upwind and downwind SO2/NO2 levels for each day (defined as two rectangles in the upwind and downwind direction; with wind direction calculated from the north-south and east-west windspeed components in the ERA data) -calculating annual averages and standard deviation of these daily values -using the standard deviations and averages to calculate signal-to-noise ratios and filtering out points with the ratio below a threshold I would like you to develop and share the code so we can run the analysis in-house and modify parameters as needed.
