Description of the project: DC motor with optical encoder is interfaced to STM32F411 microcontroller based hardware. Motor voltage and direction controlled by "H bridge" circuit with complimentary PWM. Optical encoder is interfaced using quadrature input of the microcontroller. Load current measurement is done using shunt resistor interfaced to microcontroller ADC. Tasks for Freelancer : 1. Design a robust PID controller for motor speed controller. 2. Provide instructions to tune PID controller. 3. Design a control algorithm for slip compensation when load is suddenly removed from the motor. 4. Prove your design using simulation environment. 5. Delivery should contain design document and simulation scripts, models and results.

Hello, I have very good experience in PID controller development for motor control applications. I have developed several such projects in the past including slip compensation. Proposal for listed tasks: 1. Design a robust PID controller for motor speed controller : I will develop PI control algorithm along with antiwindup. 2. Provide instructions to tune PID controller. I will provide you excel based tool to perform initial tuning. 3. Design a control algorithm for slip compensation when load is suddenly removed from the motor. Slip compensation will be done using cascaded PI control by taking current as in put to first PI and out put of first PI will be reference of second PI. feedback for second PI will be encoder input. With this approach, speed of the motor can be bought back to safe region very fast. 4. Prove your design using simulation environment. I will prove the design using open source tool s and provide you the link for installation. 5. Delivery should contain design document and simulation scripts, models and results. Yes.
