Objective
Guidelines for Final Project
To present a simulation model that represents a system, with the intention of predicting its performance. Remember that simulation modeling is used to understand whether, under what circumstances, and in which ways a segment of your system could fail or has the potential for improvement.
The main objectives are:
a) Identify a system and all its parts.
b) Understand the system’s potential problems or areas of improvement.
c) Proceed with the analysis and development of activity diagrams.
d) Create the model.
After you selected a system, (e.g. drive-thru pharmacy, bank operations, etc.) you should apply the following modeling methodology (DEGREE):
Define the problem
Establish measures of performance for evaluation.
Generate alternative solutions
Rank alternative solutions
Evaluate and iterate as necessary
Execute and evaluate the solution
Note: It is important to document your assumptions so that you can examine their effect on the model during the verification, validation, and experimental analysis steps of the methodology.
Written Report
The report must be typed, using standard 12-point, serif typeface (e.g. Times), and double- spaced, with one-inch margins (on all sides).
The final document should be saved in Word (.docx) or Adobe Portable Document Format (.pdf) format.
The paper should be a minimum of 5 pages and a maximum of 20 pages, not including references and appendices.
The title page shows the title of the paper, the group members’ names, school name, and date of submission.
All pages except the title page must be numbered. Type the numbers within the one-inch margin on the bottom of the page. These numerals should be centered.

Abbreviations should be defined the first time they appear in text by placing the abbreviation in parentheses following the spelled-out word.
Suggested report sequence
1. Define research problem.
2. Conduct literature review.
3. Form tentative title.
4. Begin introduction and begin references.
5. Conduct research and write materials and methods.
6. Prepare tables/figures.
7. Write results.
8. Write Discussion and conclusions.
9. Finish introduction and finish references.
10. Include appendices (optional).
This report should disclose the modeling process employed. It is important to include the following points:
a) Document the process being modeled.
b) Disclose the plan for collecting the data.
c) Graphical and statistical analysis of the data.
d) Hypothesis of the distributions.
Arena model
The model should be a close representation of the selected real-life system.
o The model should address all the processes described in your report.
o The model should have animations that help in the understanding a emulation of the
real-life system.
The model should run and provide results that were discussed in your written report.
Hi,
I am OR analyst specialized in mathematical programming, simulation and optimization.
The complete simulation project actually takes more than a month (around 2-3 months) which includes identifying a system, data collection, analysis, Arena model creation, Input data analysis, output data analysis, multiple simulation runs and results and conclusions.
Also, will you be providing the problem statement and data part?
Contact if interested.
Thanks,
Satish
