Hi there, I can convert your configuration manually (not using the Cisco-provided tool) line by line from 8.2 to 8.4 to 9.2 version of ASA code. As you mentioned there have been a lot of changes mainly in the way how NAT is configured. I would suggest doing a migration from 8.2 to 8.4 first and test. Then plan a migration from 8.4 to 9.2 - that would avoid any unnecessary risks. I will simulate in my lab your configurations in old and new versions and make sure the configuration conversion is done properly and there are no errors or omissions. Hi I'm a CCIE R&S. I have hands on experience in network / network security domain. Familiar with service provider, system integrator and banking industry. Specialized in large scale mission critical data center design and implementation. The bank I was working with encountered same issue. However the rewrite 8.2 NAT config to higher version may cause performance overhead ( according to our cisco tac). In the end I migrated the ASA to Juniper SRX. I can help on your migration but need a bit more time to review the current ASA config and plan carefully. Hope can hope for your project.

So far I have dealt with hundreds of upgrade cases from ASA 8.2 to later releases. The NAT rule migration will depend upon the current state of the NAT rules. There may be a requirement to migrate some rule manually but it completely depends upon the current configuration. The upgrade plan would be: - Remove nat-control and names configuration - Upgrade to 8.4.6 or latest interim of 8.4.7 - Then upgrade to the final release
