I want to hire someone to blog for me. I'm the busy CEO of a small software reseller in the USA. We sell all kinds of software products from Microsoft, Adobe/Macromedia, Symantec, McAfee, and a lot more. We are very focused on the education market. I want to create a software blog that talks about new product releases, best practices, fun projects, how certain software could be used in the classroom, etc. I have tried to do this but I just don't have the time to post every day. This doesn't work because people want new and interesting information all the time. That's where you come in. I want your bid on posting at least 3 articles every day related to educational/academic software. You can get the content anywhere you want, taking all copyrights into consideration. Post about what others are doing, offer interesting web searches, find teachers and link to them. They don't have to be long or in-depth but they should be relevant and interesting to a teacher or student. Even something as quick and easy as "Ms. Jane Doe, a teacher in Chicago, is doing some really great stuff with Photoshop (link to Photoshop on our website). She has her students doing their own graphics for a classroom website. etc." -link to Ms. Doe's website- or this: "Have you seen the new Search Folders feature in Outlook 2003? It has really reduced the time I spend checking email. Here's a link to a Microsoft site explaining how to use them." -link to Microsoft site- or this: Excellent Download: The Google Desktop beta is very helpful when trying to find something on your desktop. Now, with the new version, it has a blog reader, scratch page and weather built right in. The best bit? It's free! Download here: - link to Google- (note, this one isn't exactly related to academic software but that's ok to sometimes mention very helpful stuff for teachers.) Very similar to [login to view URL] if you want to take a look. Very different audience, however. I just like the structure. The voice should be active, friendly, helpful and very upbeat. Offer tips, suggestions, news, new releases, cool stuff you find, etc. Think a toned-down, software related Wired magazine for teachers. Cutting edge but not bleeding edge. I do want to be able to post occasionally myself so we'll use some software that allows posts from multiple people. My requirements for you are: 1. English as your native language. OR, be so good I can't tell. I will test you! These are teachers and grammar, spelling and voice is very important. 2. Have experience blogging. Please post your blog address to the PMB. And, please post writing samples. If you don't have a blog or writing samples then this is probably not the job for you! 3. If you win, you will be required to post at least 3 times per day, M-F and twice over the weekend. If you're on vacation then post early with a timer for when it shows up online. (Anyone know what blog software would allow this?) You have to make this commitment! 4. At least twice per month, write a good, long article reviewing some software that we sell or interviewing a teacher or student. Good, long content that you develop yourself. Hopefully, it will be about software that you use every day anyway. I also have a bunch of demo software I could send you. (sorry, nothing fun, just kids software) 5. Be independently minded about this project. I can help get you going in the right direction for the first couple of weeks but I don't want to have to come up with every idea and prod you do get the job done. Your job is to take this blog and make it your own. 6. You agree that the site ownership remains with me, all content posted and developed for the blog becomes the property of my company. This is a month-to-month contract. 7. This is a part time gig. I expect that once you get the hang of it then it should only take an hour or so per day (that's about 20 minutes per post...more than enough), plus a few extra hours each month for the longer articles. 8. You don't have to reside in the USA but you will act like you do as far as this blog goes. :-) If this project sounds like a drag then don't bid it! If it sounds like a blast and loads of fun then you get the idea and you are the type of person I'm looking for. Thanks for reading. Please post your MONTHLY price for this project. I will pay you the first month through Scriptlance and each subsequent month through PayPal. I will work out a bonus structure for you when the website meets certain daily pageview goals.
