I have a bash script that run a ffmpeg comand.([login to view URL]) and then another bash script([login to view URL]) that i run via crontab every minute so [login to view URL] check if ffmpeg is down and if its down it run [login to view URL] again . but problem is coz sometimes ffmpeg is runing i can see in (ps - C ffmpeg) and video is not realtime(live)so ffmpeg is blocked(stucks) i always see same sequence (1 minute of video) . So i need a way to fix the bash script that restream ffmpeg, so u need to add any line there that will restart stream if is a problem like this. FIX: so u can fix this by checking time of process coz sometimes it stucks (see image) in image u have 2 ffmpeg commands that show same time if i run ps -C ffmpeg So u need to make a code in [login to view URL] so it will check if time is same like previous ps -C ffmpeg and kill pid

If you want to kill some of ffmpeg, you need parse 'ps aux' output, using awk + sed, and kill -9 required pid. UPD: looking to your output, seems I have solution (tested it on my local PC). Will exchange it with good feedback & 10 USD for a beer =) Please contact me, I'll explain you. Thanks!

Hi, I have a ready made script for this. Single script is enough to achieve this, script has to be schedule in cron for every minute. we will check the process by ps -C ffmpeg every time the script runs and take the TIME and PID in a desired format. verifies the the PID with the previous output and see the TIME is same or not, if the time is same then kill that PID i can give this script in with in one or two hours time I have 10 years of experience in UNIX administration, Looking for your earnest reply to start with the project

I am pretty good at the scripting and the server tasks. I am in the industry for over 8 years and been through almost everything. I would like to take a look at the server and see why the ffmpeg process actually stuck and fix from the root. Regards, Kev

I have fixed a similar issue, ffmpeg get stuck when streaming live video to streaming server. script restarts ffmpeg when it gets stuck.

Suggest to install nginx via which will run ffmpeg. In case of disconnection of a video stream will restart automatically
