SMDA is a small CNC workhop in France. We have 10 skilled technicians and we produce on demand metal or plastic parts on numerical control Lathes and Mills.
Our customers are small and medium size business which look for reliable sub contractors. We work for very diverse industrial fields such as electric motor, special machines, medical apparels, industrial valves, electronic supplier. We work with our customers on long term and like partnership. We only target French Market in our area. We have a very simple web site that we will renew. [login to view URL]
We have started business in 2000 and we have never design a logo, however, we tend to use red color in all our communication. Previous red was too flashy and now we would prefer softer Red such as E31937, and Greys back ground (exemple: AEB0B2 or 717074).
We would like a logo which capture part of the key strengths we have developped over time: efficiency, reliability, trust, skilled labour, innovation.
An idea is a modern stylized "S" letter + our 4 letter names "SMDA". In one draft, we have used Lexend typefront which has been developped specifficly for efficient reading; that illustrate our wish to be as efficient as possible in all aspect of our business.
We have added an optional tag line "USINAGE METAUX ET PLASTIQUES". It is French and means "Metal and Plastic machining".
We obviously welcome any proposal which support our intention: Efficient, Innovative, Customer Focused, Reactive.
However, we don't want in our logo a skecth of tools used in our trade (calipers, drill, gear,...); it has been used by thousands of company and doesn't match with innovation idea. If mechanical icons are used in the logo, it should be conceptual.
