There is an argument said that while lifting the pump it is require to open the platform. After taking out the platform from around the pump, the techniques able to lifting the pump. The reason for taking out the platform from around the pump is because when someone standing above it will create bending or caused unbalanced for the pump while lifting. Other said as they said the platform it is strong enough to hole the people weight without causing any issues. The platform it is supported by it is own column. Therefore, it does not seem it will case any issue while lifting and no need to consume more time for opening and taking out the platform. Your Job: Is to proof the second argument is correct by drawing a finite element analysis and Autcad drawing in A4 form will be provided for details. And you need to apply a weight on the platform itself as an example that people standing above it and see if that will effect in regards bending or ANY other deformation or any things that may effect while lifting the pump .

Hi, Please share Platform's dimensions and column details which is holding pump and platform. I will make 3d Model and will do structure failure analysis in ansys which will be done using FEA analysis. As per my understanding the work requires to model the pump and it's platform. Assign selfweight on the pump and platform. Now we have to assign weight of the person as live load. Analyse the model using a FEA software and check for the deflection and von Mises stress. I can complete the project in 7 days and deliver it to you with a detailed report.
