I already wrote this script and use it on multiple production servers every day. It will backup all databases to an S3 bucket of your choosing and email the results daily. Can I ask if the database lives in RDS or on an EC2 instance? If the database is on RDS, the best option for backups would be snapshots (call that free advice). Good day. If the script is running on a server I can use bash directly to do a backup for your database to amazon S3. or if you prefer I do a script with python or PHP and use crontab to run a script automatically I hope your response. Regards.
