MCU + POE Design compatible with REST / SOAP API

Hi there I have worked with rc522 in an attendence system. The esp was connected over wifi to the server. On presenting card it contacted server by calling web api. If valid will trigger door lock. It can be converted to fit your requirement of hosting a webpage with some endpoints for accepting commands and showing status. Are you referring to active or passive PoE. If it's passive Poe then the task is very easy. Active Poe needs additional circuits. Plz msg to discuss in detail
