I am using a VB6 program to shell an Internet Explorer app to load an html doc on a local machine. We then provide links to another HTML doc that runs Java applets. Sometimes the IE thread stays running and after enough of them build up causes a low virtual memory error. I need a program that will go through the system processes and look for any Internet Explorers that are currently open and close them. I would very much like to the program to grab the handle of the Internet Explorer and close just the ones that were called by the VB6 App but since we are opening a local html doc and providing links from there I don’t feel this can be done. So I will settle with closing all Internet Explorers. 1. Create a VB6 program that will Search through the system processes 2. Close any threads that are running for Internet Explorer or Netscape 3. Get paid More Info: To open the IE app we use: Dim ret As Long ret = ShellExecute([login to view URL], "Open", URL, vbNullString, vbNullString, SW_SHOW) Once this is called the dynamically created HTML page is loaded with 3 links to HTML Pages that load Java Applets. All HTML Pages are dynamically created on the local machine before the VB6 App calls the link page. Once the user clicks on the links and the applet is done doing applet stuff the user closes the browsers by clicking on the “X?? to close the window. We have commands in the applet to close the thread but this does not always work. The Browser window does not show anywhere on the machine except in the process under task manager.
