Access Replication

I need a way of replicating an Access database over the internet. I am open to all suggestions but do not want to use replication manager as I can no longer purchase it. I would like a tool to sit on the server computer that will allow a remote user to sync the changes with there server. The client will have an active x control or vb application (command line program) that can be called to sync the database. Also I would like another tool to connect to the server to create a replica on the client’s machine. To clarify: 1. Server Application The server application must be written in VB6. I want it to listen for sync requests from the client. I also want the ability to send a SQL statement to be executed on the server’s database. 2. Remote User Application The remote user application will allow the user to request to sync their replica with the design master over the internet. It must be able to transmit changes both ways and then send a sql query to the server. It will also send the login details to the server (username and password and replica type) for the server application to run a query to check to see if the user can sync. This function will return a record if they can sync (I will write this query later). I am open to indirect as mentioned in this article: I would prefer not to be able to have the hassle of setting up a VPN or IIS on the server. But I would prefer the server to run IIS if you need this. We have had trouble setting up a VPN server and client in Windows XP so we don’t really want to go down this path. Please explain how you will complete this task so I can present this to my employer. We are interested in someone who can perform this job quickly and be able to do it for a competitive price.
