We are looking to build a military oriented website which networks military members and veterans with their families, friends, and supporters. We want to have highlighted features such as Mil Matching, Video Chat, Video Uploads with categories, Classifieds, Member Blogs, Military Forum, Peer Search (by Base and location), Job Search (simplyhired) Friend Invite, Groups and Units, and Rank labels (on names). Joomla 1.5 and JomSocial may work for this website but that will be up to the designer. Some of the features that we want on our website, such as the Pride (points or Kudos) feature and the Mil Matching feature may take some altering codes. We have the domain name but it will need to be pointed to a server that is compatible with our video and video chat features. Imageleet should be able to support this feature. Our Budget We currently have a budget that we have to keep. If you are willing to accept a lump sum payment and contract the remainder of the cost into payments after completion of the website please state this in your bid. Below you will find an outline for our website design without linked examples. An outline with linked examples will be provided upon bid selection and approval. Concept Ideas: The main concept of this website is to not only develop a network but to develop a query of connections between members according to there location, fields of expertise, and interests. Blocks will be posted to each members profile control panel according to particular interests chosen by member during website registration or when member profile is edited. Member will also accumulate “Prides” (points or kudos) for completing certain actions such as starting a Group or posting a blog. They will be able to receive “Prides” from other members who can give 1 “Pride” to a blog, picture, video, etc. that they enjoy. Website Appearance Our website background should be the digital ACU design. Registration When a member first signs up, in addition to the normal registration information, new registrants should have the option to: 1. Select from a list of interest which are divided into two separate functions. This is the Mil Matching page. a. What can your military network help you with? • Join the military or choose a branch • Find a job, contract or short term jobs • Find professionals interested in my new business ventures or ideas, including mentors, lenders, and other future entrepreneurs. • I need a website, myspace layout, or other internet based service. • Find a life coach or mentor to advise me on my career or personal financial goals. • Find a Realtor • Just here for friends. b. What can you contribute to your network? • I'm a recruiter and can answer question or concerns • I'm an employer or I'm looking to contract out work • I am looking to help future business owners with advice, capital, or mentorship. • I build website or provide web based services. • I am a life coach or mentor. • I am a Realtor 2. Edit Profile information which will include: a. Military Affiliation (include branch specific rank images that will accompany members name and various entries through out the website.) b. Military Status • Plus, Military Spouse and Military Parent c. Occupational Selection d. Add Military Base • Current Base • Former Bases The Accumulation of “Prides” Member will accumulate “Prides” which are basically, points or kudos, for completing certain actions. At the end of a given period the webmaster should be able to tally which members have acquired the most “Prides.” At this time the webmaster should have the ability to reward such members or multiple members by either of the following: 1. Posting member on Home page as “Most Prideful Members.” (1 Member) 2. Posting member on all member control panel home page (page seen once member has signed in) as Top 10 Prideful Members. (10 Members) Number of “Prides” for a given action: 1. Becoming a member – 10 BONUS “Prides” 2. Inviting a friend – 10 Prides 3. Starting a Group – 25 Prides 4. Joining a group – 10 prides 5. Writing a Blog – 10 Prides 6. Posting a Video – 10 Prides 7. Posting a classifieds ad – 10 Prides 8. Posting a comment to blogs, or videos – 5 Prides Note: I understand that depending on the software, components, modules, extensions, and CMS used, the Pride Points System may be hard to implement on some of these features. Our goal is to have this feature in enough areas to make it a relevant feature to our website. Home Page Our home page should have an intro to what our website is about. I would also like to put such features as Latest Blogs, Featured Members, Latest Members, Featured Videos, Recent Activities, and if we use Seyret Video Pro I would like to have the Video home page module. Must be able to manage scripts and advertisements. Mil Matching This feature will post members with similar interests on a members control panel home page. Member interests are as seen above in the “registration” area. Video Chat We are looking to have a video chat similar to AVChat2. AVChat2 can be integrated into this website then it will work perfectly. AVChat2 runs on a FMS (Flash Media Server) or Red 5 Server. Video Uploads with Categories We would like to have the flexibility on our videos page to have a table of contents and a user video channel. We would also like the share features such as digg, reddit, simply, furl, google, and facebook. Videos should also have “video script” for copy and paste and our logo as watermark. I think Seyret Video Pro would work just fine. Classifieds A CL-like classifieds feature is preferred. We would like to list military bases instead of cities if possible. Member Blogs Members should be able to post blogs Military Forum FireBoard Forum will work. Peer Search (by Base and location) Search feature should list all military bases and should query members profile information in order to group member. Job Search (simplyhired) We will start a simplyhired account once developer is chosen. Friend Invite ParaInvite feature is preferred. Groups and Units Members should be able to start groups. Groups should be titled “Groups and Units.” Rank labels (on names) Members should be able to pick from a selection of rank images that will accompany members name throughout the website. If possible rank image could be automatically queried from members profile information. Admin Functions We need the ability to post scripts such as Google Adsense, Commission Junction ads, youtube videos, and internal hyperlinked images on home page and on pages through out the website. We must have a central location which shows a members total “Prides” tally either on a weekly or monthly bases so that we can determine which members have acquired the most “prides” within a given period of time. Footer We need the normal footer features such as About Us, Contact Us, Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Site Map, etc.
