Hi, I understand you are looking for an online marketplace site. However I would appreciate it if you could send us the functional requirements for the backend (admin) as well as the frontend. We propose to custom code the website using either CodeIgnitor or Symfony2 both of which are an MVC frameworks based on PHP and is extremely scalable. Suggestions: 1. When it comes to an online marketplace, you need to have an excellent hosting infrastructure. Shared servers are not recommended. While you may start of with VPS hosting as it would adequate when the initial flow of traffic is low, you will ultimately need to migrate to a dedicated server or a cloud server. Its costly but has its benefits when housing a large database and dealing with thousands of concurrent users. 2. Needless to say, you will need to purchase a payment gateway apart from PayPal. 3. You will need to purchase an SSL certificate as you will be capturing sensitive information such as CC/DC details etc. 4. If you need to provide order confirmation through SMS, you will need to purchase an SMS gateway. We will help you with integration of all the above. Questions: 1. Is the site going to be for specific product types or all types of products (simple,configurable,downloadable)? 2. Will there be any membership packages? 3. What will be the search parameters ? 4. Hi there, I can build such a web app for you. Vendors would have to pay a monthly fee to activate their package. I can include PayPal payment gateway. On the font end users could browse through the added offers and products and would be able to see a map with offers/products nearest to them.
