have a remote mysql database (centos apache) and a local one (windows xampp). The issue is I cannot open ports on the local one, nor does it have a fixed IP. I require master-master replication or some sort of periodic syncing between the two, so I guess it must be setup on the local to access the remote? I know for MSSQL there is the sync framework which runs locally and syncs, is there anything like that for MySQL or PHP so I can just run a script locally to keep things in sync? Hello, as you probably already know without opening a port, normal master-master or master-slave replications are impossible. The changing IP is not an issue as long as the MySQL user is not restricted to particular one. If periodic sync is not an issue for you, then I can write a program to do this for you, but I need to know is the remote server running Linux, and do you have SSH access to it if so? If you don't have SSH access then the solution will become a little bit more complex and my bid would be different. Kind Regards, Stanimir Stoyanov

I know how to fix this without changing / opening local ports. You need a local script that will update / sync both the databases. One question: is this a 2 way sync or remote updates and you need replication to your local or both.
