I propose using a online service to detect music since the tools are already available. Everything else are regular stuff. I can program in Python so I also propose this language.

Hello, Hope you are doing good. As you've said you want a system which listens to the audio and identifies the song, once song is identified it send the details like name of the song and time at which the song was played to the web where this details will be saved in a spreadsheet. To implement this application we will be using raspberry pi zero with pi microphone hat which will intakes the audio input to recognize the song. Once the song is recognized, the details of song's playtime and song name will be sent over to the web to be saved in the spreadsheet. We will be using a cloud API which will gives the fast result with the audio recognition system. If you think I'm missing out something then we can have a conversation for the same. Thanks.
