IIA Learning prepares students for the IIA Chartered by Learning qualification. Our aim is to promote the development of students’ knowledge, skills and competencies through the provision of quality learning materials and student support services. As part of our student support services, IIA Learning offers both distance and face-to-face courses: including the use of a Case Study Author and supported by workshops and seminars. The Learning Academy supports members in achieving and maintaining their professional designations, and non-members to acquire audit related skills and competencies. A key component is the Institute’s flagship Chartered designation. The Case Study Author is responsible for writing one case study per term upon which all assessments will be based (three course assignments, the final exam, and a resit exam). In achieving this objective, the Case Study Author will have the following main accountabilities and responsibilities: The Moderator will determine the nature of the case study and provide guidance on the issues to be covered in the case. Working with the moderator, the Case Study Author should translate the vision and produce a coherent and cohesive case which swill challenge the candidates and allow for the syllabus to be assessed in full and in depth. The Case Study Author will collaborate with the examiners to ensure that questions formulated by the examiners fit well within the case. This will require the Case Study Author to review and amend as exam questions take shape. The Case Study Author will conduct all the necessary research and interviews to Case Study Author the case study. This would include in-depth fact-checking and information searches to ensure that the final case study is of high quality to assess the skills and competencies expressed in the syllabus while simultaneously producing a case that is complex, relatable and convincing. The Case Study Author will be responsible for producing a complete case study, free from errors and mistakes, and deliver this by the agreed deadline. General responsibilities To obtain assignments, rubrics, and accompanying declarations. To review the quality, cogency, structure, and presentation of responses. To note your comments throughout the marking process and discuss with examiners where necessary. To clearing deviations from marking guidelines ahead of time. To return completed tasks along with feedback and supporting paperwork within the agreed dates. To report and respond to assignment-related concerns as well as suggesting improvements to existing rubrics.
