I am designing an aluminum extrusion to be used in a modular system, from which therapy swings will be attached.
I would like to know how much weight the extrusion can support when a load is placed in the center of a 10 foot span. I have an assembly drawing to illustrate the use of the product, as well as some reference photography to a similar product. I do not wish to invest in tooling expenses until I can verify the strength of the material.
I am a start-up company, so I have limited resources. My drawings are in Solidworks (2004). I am self-taught, so I do not know how to do this analysis.
