Debug and add Search feature to our ASP.NET / SQL Server web catalog

We have an ASP.NET / C# application that we are going to use as our online product catalog. Our products are e-learning modules that are organized into categories, some of which have sub-categories. The purpose of the application is to display the categories for the user, and when a category is clicked, display either the sub-categories (if any), or else an accordion control with the module titles and descriptions. Much of this has already been done, although there are a few bugs (described below) that will need to be corrected as part of this project. The other purpose of the application is to allow the user to search for modules. This will need to be added to the application as part of this project. When the user enters a search term, the application should display a list of modules that contain the term in the module Title, Description, or Objectives. (The Objectives text is not displayed to the user, but is stored in the database for search purposes.) The search result display should use the same layout as the accordion list of modules in a category. If a category contains subcategories, the application displays a description of the top-level category, and then a list of the subcategories. Clicking a subcategory will then display the list of modules. This will need to be fixed in the current application - currently, modules associated with a top-level category (no subcategory) do not display properly. The application imports data into our SQL Server database from a spreadsheet located at /Admin/Document/ImportData.xlsx. The important columns in that document are: Modules tab: - Module Name — CURRENT: The title of the module - Meridian/Website Status — Only modules that contain "active" in this column should be indexed and displayed by the application - Category columns (Q through U) — Indicates which categories the module is a member of. If the module is a member of a subcategory, it will be listed in Columns R and T. Otherwise, it is a member of the top-level category only. Categories tab: - Categories: The name of the category - Value Statements: The description of the category - Subcategories (and subsequent columns): Any subcategories are listed in sequential columns for the row (first subcategory in column C, the next in column D, etc.) As the third part of the project, there will be minor HTML/CSS tweaks that we will request to improve the look and feel of the application, and of course debugging of any other issues that we find during the course of the project.
