Due on December 1 Write a ~1200 word essay on one of the following topics. Since this is an argumentative paper, make sure to be clear, logical, and well-structured. Consider arguments against your position and provide responses to them. In addition, make sure that you interact with written materials from class and from your own research. If God does not exist, is it possible to have objective good and bad, right and wrong? Some argue that belief in the existence of God and the afterlife are rationally required in order to explain moral behavior in cases of extreme sacrifice. What is your view? B. Is weakness of the will (akrasia) possible? In other words, is it possible for one to know the good or the moral course of action, yet to choose to act immorally? Compare and contrast the two major positions on this issue. Finally, argue for the position you consider to be superior. C.
