## Simple Asp.NET File Upload Web Service and Windows Forms Application Project Overview: We would like users to install a windows program on their computer that sends files from a selected directory to our server at a given time interval. ## Deliverables ## Simple Asp.NET File Upload Web Service and Windows Forms Application Project Overview: We would like users to install a windows program on their computer that sends files from a selected directory to our server at a given time interval. Web Forms Application: | Step 1. Secure Login | | ![][1] | | Step 2. Directory Selection | | ![][2] | * The application should be installable on and compatible with all modern Windows Operating Systems. Users will first be asked to log in with their Account ID, Username and Password. These values are stored in an SQL database table on the server. Credentials should be verified before the user can proceed to the next step and saved securely on the client's computer. * In the second and final step, users will choose a directory on their hard drive. * Upon completing the set up, the program should run at a set timed interval (e.g. once every 12 hours). The files in the chosen directory will be uploaded to the server, but only files with the extension .al3 can be sent. * When a file has been successfully uploaded to the server, it should be deleted from the user's hard drive. * The user should also be able to return to the set up at a later time and revise any fields like login credential and path of his directory. .NET Web Service: ? The Web Service will be hosted on a server with IIS 7. ? I imagine that the windows application will make calls to the Web Service (at given time intervals) and authenticate the user, using his Account ID, Username and Password. ? For demonstration purposes, a sample table in an SQL database with columns AccountID, Username and Password can be created, which the service can use to authenticate each user's request. ? If all checks out, the user's file(s) (with [login to view URL] file extension) should be accepted and saved to a specified location on the server. Note: Please use the VB.NET language for all code. I am leaving this project open to suggestions. Ideas or alternative ways to accomplish these requirements are welcomed.
