Hire a Web Developer

McIntosh Gallery at Western University is seeking a web developer and designer to assist with a project set to launch in October 2017. As part of its Canada 150 celebrations, McIntosh Gallery is developing a multimedia website: A Driving Force: Women of the London, Ontario, Visual Arts Community 1867-2017. Women artists, supporters, collectors, donors, writers, critics, administrators, educators, volunteers have been a driving force in the London art community, ensuring its vibrancy and moving it forward. The website, unique in Canada, will feature individual pages outlining biographical information, specific contributions, professional accomplishments, and images (and, in some cases, video interviews and art). Only candidates within the London, Ontario region will be considered. The successful candidate will work closely with the Curator's Assistant and the Registrar to translate research into a functioning website. Specific work days and hours are based on the availability of the candidate and the scale of the project. The candidate must present a portfolio of past projects. Since the project is showcasing women's contributions to the London community, female web developers are highly encouraged to apply. General information about McIntosh Gallery: As a public gallery on the campus of Western University, one of the McIntosh Gallery’s responsibilities in the public trust is to collect, maintain and preserve a Permanent Collection of art objects pertaining to the visual heritage of London. Currently, the Collection numbers over 3,800 works and has its strengths in contemporary and historical Canadian art. A rich resource for the promotion and appreciation of local, regional and national artists, it is featured regularly in curated exhibitions and to demonstrate the depth of cultural and visual heritage in this city. In addition, the McIntosh offers a continuous program of contemporary and historical exhibitions and art education activities to enhance the gallery experience for its varied audiences.
