I need a script to compare MS Word and MS Excel files and generate a report of differences. Here's the user workflow 1. Place a master/template doc in a folder called /master 2. Put files to be compared with the generic in a folder called /others 3. Run the program: "mscompare -m /master/[login to view URL] /others" 4. Open folder called /output and view the corresponding files that show differences Here's the approach I have in mind (open to more elegant solutions) Open "output/[login to view URL]" for ouput as fd_summary For each folder in folder_others For each file in folder differences = diff( doc_master, file ) ) if ( differences ) Open "output/" + [login to view URL] + "html" for ouput as fd_diff write(fd_diff , diff( doc_master, file )) Close fd_diff write( fd_summary, "<tr><td>" + [login to view URL] + "<td>" + "has diff" ) else write( fd_summary, "<tr><td>" + [login to view URL] + "<td>" + "has no diff" ) close fd_summary
