Lotus notes/domino Backup ------------------------- make a service application that backup/recover lotus notes/domino while lotus is running. for recovery its acceptable that lotus must be stopped. if you dont have a lotus 8 server for testing YOU must setup one and YOU must test the application completely (incl. test report) the backup must be copied to a folder so that files are accessable for backup. (only new or changed files must be copied) the application that execute the backup must be done as a windows service. a second gui-application must be done to make the setup, to watch the status and to execute the backup/recovery manualy. details ------- the communication between service and application must be done by ini files. there is a setup inifile that holds the setup made by gui. there is a status inifile that contains the status of the service. (sutch as progess, action ..) there is a log file (textfile) where the service application writes detailed log with timestamps to it. to start the backup, the gui application writes a file ([login to view URL]). the service application checkes every 5 seconds for this file and as soon it finds the file, backup will be executed. to stop the backup, the gui application writes a file ([login to view URL]). the service application checkes every 5 seconds for this file and as soon it finds the file, backup will be interrupted. i send you detailed format of inifiles and the control files (start/stop) if you start the project. general ------- ALL DATA of lotus must be backupped ... inculding lotus setup. all current versions of lotus notes/domino (specially version 8) must be supported. i must have all sources no 3d parity componets are allowed except they are free and source is included. application must make backup of a 10Gb lotus archive within maximum 6 houres.
