I need a subclass routine / DLL to capture text when added to a textbox control such as the message control in MSN Messenger. Most of the textbox controls are actually richtextbox controls. I need a way of passing the handle to this routine and when new text is added, an event fires so I can do what I need with new text as it comes it. For the VB demo, enter the handle in a text control and click a button to add it to be watched. Then display the new text in a richtextbox to show you grabbed it. It only grabs the new text as it is added - not all the text each time.
One thing is I would like to subclass more than one handle at a time. So I could monitor multiple text box controls at once. I will take care of getting the handles of the controls to monitor. I just need it to pass the text in an event with the handle it was grabbed from.
Actually, to help me out alot, what I want to do is pass a handle and a string variable when I subclass (hook) the control. This string is just passed back in the event with the handle and the text grabbed. This is just for my own use but want it passed through and returned with the text.
This should be something that does not crash and has all error checking built in. A hard-coded password is needed when I call the hook method to protect others from using it (just a string password made up).
Please only bid if you know EXACTLY how to do this and can do it quickly. Anyone who wants to provide a demo to get accepted fast is welcome to do so.
I prefer this be written in VB 6.0 but will consider C++.
Thanks
