I am looking for a fairly simple and straightforward "online quote request system with tracking". In other words, I want the end user customer to be able to go to the website, go to "request a quote" and see a FORM that asks them specific questions about what they want to ship. They fill out the quote request, as well as setup an account with their login/password (to be able to find out the status of their request and to capture their information) and this information is then saved to a MySQL database. Upon receipt of this quote request, an email is sent to a specific person/department (depending on what shipping type and details they provided). If this person does not respond to the request in 24 hours, there is some type of "flag" that alerts their boss so that someone else can stay on top of the quote request. Details below:
==================================================
For a person to request a quote, they must first detail their name and contact info from the "request a quote" page. So, we will need to have the front end html for that page
* If they are a return user and have set-up an account, they can log in at the top of every page of website
* If they are a first time user, they must enter their name and contact info
* Person will be given the chance to save this info by setting up a login account
* Must have the ability to request logon and password info if the user forgot it
* Must be able to reset password and change their password
2. Once a person's contact info has been entered or retrieved, it is time to enter quote information
* Quotes are either for Import, Export, or NVOCC
* Import and export quotes can be for Air, Train, Truck or Ship
* Import and Export quotes can be either Custom Clearance only or Customs and Freight Transportation
* Also, any of these different quote request gave include Hazardous material. In this case, additional info must be requested.
3. Once the required info is submitted, it needs to be written to a database. Additional fields need to be added for a comments field, a last accessed date, and a flag of some sort that can be set to indicate the request has been completed.
4. When a request is submitted, an email needs to be submitted to a specific person/department. There will be a person for each of the following:
Import Air
Import Ship
Import Train
Import Truck
Export Air
Export Ship
Export train
Export Truck
NVOCC
5. If the data base record is not accessed within one business day by the person/department it was sent to, the person's / department's supervisor needs to be emailed and informed that the quote is still sitting there incomplete.
6. The requested quote should be updated every day until it is ultimately completed and every time it is more than one business day between access, an email needs to be delivered to the person's supervisor.
7. Then, once completed the request will be closed with details about the quote that was sent to the original person requesting the quote.
