Hello, I am interested to talk about your project. I think there are some parts left out of the initial description. For example like the database of words in each CV to make a frequency list of used words. Please correct me if I am wrong. I still think this would be the right path to develop the complete the whole solution. I suppose with this software you want to make a solution to help hiring managers and companies to pick their right candidates without spending too much time on reading many CVs. Hi, my name is Matt S Rinc and your project can be done, here are two proposals (the difference is web/cloud based vs desktop applicaiton): 1. Web/cloud based: installed Linux instance with Shiny (R statistical programming language, script runnning on a server and displayed on web page). Text analysis using proven R packages, display using Python or javascript libraries - recommending D3.js graphic layouts. This would be for the "word cloud" you are referring too (with removing common words e.g. "the"). Below there would be buttons/links to preview each different CV (content) uploaded with emphasizing different words. 2. Desktop based: Pyhton based Kivy(.org) application, with possibility to export applications to Windows, Mac and Linux (and Android and iPad). Textual analysis done with free powerful Python libraries, display - word cloud - solved with built-in features. Document displaying simple with tabbed interface e.g. full screen of the document shows from the left, touch enabled. That's pretty all. It is quite a simple matter to parse docx (Word) files. I have a background in writing statistical analysis (I've been using it for years to create indicators and trading robots for the foreign currency markets) and accounting software (for currency brokers). I know AJAX (HTML/JavaScript/PHP) and MySQL very well. AJAX will be useful for building the user interface on the web. I will build the file parser and analyzer in either PHP or C++. Did you want to display the processed data as downloadable Word files, embedded Word files, or show them on the site in HTML format? I can use shades of gray to represent commonness of the words in the batch, and/or font-size, as mentioned. Because there are only 255 shades of gray, the values will need to be normalized. I can normalize the data in a linear or exponential fashion. Exponential / inverse-exponential will probably work out best. Color-based commonness indication might be superior to size-based since it won't interfere with the shape of the document. Please let me know if you also need me to set up user accounts on the site.
