Position for a Developer/System Manager at Smarttrace\r\n\r\nSkills and Abilities:\r\n\r\nClear criminal and ITC record\r\nAt least 3 contactable references\r\nCommercial experience in an online environment\r\nExtensive knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JQuery, Javascript\r\nMust work autonomously with a high degree of commitment and motivation\r\nExperience in developing websites and web applications\r\nFully adept at communication skills in both English and Afrikaans\r\nThe ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines\r\nExcellent time management\r\nUncompromising standard of quality in performing job functions and a strong focus on delivery\r\nSkilled at problem solving\r\nThe ability to take initiative with a high degree of maturity and professionalism\r\nClient feedback (in terms of the software delivered)\r\nGood understanding of both front and back end development using PHP\r\nAnalysis, design and new Product development\r\nExtending existing Product suite by building new features and functionality to specification\r\nSupport, troubleshooting and resolving defects in the current product set\r\nNo less than 5 years PHP experience and MSE and/or equivalent experience\r\nTechnical Skills:\r\n\r\nExpert knowledge of user operating systems\r\nAbility to determine whether a particular problem is caused by hardware, operating systems software, application programs, or network failures\r\nIT equipment and software purchasing\r\nManagement of all internal IT support, both onsite and remotely\r\nSupport network infrastructure, new implementations, daily monitoring, and maintenance\r\nManaging the technology services and resources in an effective and efficient manner, while implement improvements as required.\r\nExperience in Data warehousing.\r\nKey areas of responsibility:\r\n\r\nWrite clean, well-engineered code complying with accepted standards\r\nUnderstand the goals and strategy behind each project from conception through to completion\r\nIdentify opportunities for process improvement and make constructive suggestions for change\r\nMaintain existing codebase, including troubleshooting bugs and adding new features\r\nWrite clean object-oriented PHP as well as efficient SQL\r\nPreliminary website testing to ensure proper functioning\r\nWrite reusable code, preferably classes and libraries\r\nCreating reports for management and clients\r\nTechnical support i.e. backups, servers, etc.\r\nDatabase Administration\r\nAd hoc duties assigned to you by management\r\nRemuneration will be according to experience and skills.
