I believe the Roq gateways and clients assume Crypto sources - from the doc, it should be possible to customize and host these services ( micro services) for regular trading markets. Maybe we need to install and explore a few things before posting more comments. Could you kindly advise us whether your requirement is for Crypto trading? When building low-latency trading systems, we as developers can do a lot to make our processing pipelines fast, but ultimately we are limited by the communication framework used to place trades. Further, the market maker is allowed to prioritize orders, making it even more difficult to compete with low-latency trading firms established close to the exchanges. I think you should consider the timeframe of your trading strategies based on the number of seconds you can tolerate without losing your trade. If you can allow 10 seconds of error or more, you will be alright. Anything less than 10 seconds is probably a gamble that will have sporatic behavior based on market conditions (ie volatility, when exchanges get flooded with orders, wonky things happen). I've developed trading systems with interactive brokers (IB) in C++ (check my github for TradeBase, the backtester; TradeBrain, the strategies; and TradeBot, the IB interface). They automate strategies that can process price and volume data, calculate indicators and make trading decisions automatically within fimeframes of about 1 minute. One thing you should check with Roq Trading is if they have their API code open for development from people like you. You will likely find bugs with their API and submitting bug reports takes weeks to resolve. You need to be able to fork their project, fix bugs yourself, and submit merge requests to them, otherwise you will have your time wasted. Message if you want to talk about this more.
