No outside sources and I'll give it to you(use the attached files) Victor Johnson is a 20 year-old first-time offender who was convicted of unarmed robbery. The victim, 37 year old Michelle Garcia, stated that she was walking down the street alone at approximately 9:45 PM after leaving a bar where she had dinner and drinks with her friends when the defendant approached her from behind, pushed into a wall, snatched her iPhone and purse out of her hand and took off running. The victim reported back pain for about 2 months after the incident. The defendant was ultimately caught two days later after attempting to use the victim’s credit card to buy bread, lunch meat, baby formula, and diapers at a nearby convenience store. The defendant admitted to selling the victim’s iPhone to a local pawn shop and using that money to purchase alcohol and powder cocaine the night before, but claimed he committed the robbery so that he could feed his 1 year old child at home. The defendant was laid off from his job about 6 months ago and has been living on unemployment. The defendant stated he recently started using alcohol and cocaine to cope with feeling like a failure for not being able to provide for his family. 1/2 Page Response.
