Hello!
My name is Shuojun Chen, and I’m a native Chinese speaker and now studying in Canada. I’m very interested in your project.
Thank you very much for your precious time!
Research Assistant (Website Editor)
McGill University - Montréal, QC September 2012 to November 2018
I have been an editor of an online research project, called Ming-Qing Women’s Writings Project, which collects Chinese women's works, mainly poetry, from the 16th century to the early 20th century. All Chinese used on this website is the Traditional Chinese.
More specifically, my jobs are to distinguish the handwriting, to find the background information for the author, to categorize the writing based on the literary genre, and to input core information of literary works into the database. I am also able to process the raw data from the website by using Access.
Translator
McGill University - Montréal, QC September 2012 to November 2018
Translation (English to Chinese Simplified / Traditional, Chinese Simplified / Traditional to English) is the most important part of my academic training and research. One third of my MA degree thesis (120 pages) is translation.
